UNUD Optimizes the Utilization of Artificial Intelligence Technology for Teachers of SMP Negeri 3 Selat with Increasing Enthusiasm

Karangasem, Bali Monday to Wednesday, July 22-24, 2024 - In an effort to improve the quality of education, the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Udayana University through the Udayana Mengabdi Program held training and mentoring for teachers of SMP Negeri 3 Selat, Duda Utara, Karangasem Bali. The training and mentoring which lasted for three days on July 22-24, 2024 carried the theme "Optimizing the Utilization of Artificial Intelligence in Education".

Currently, artificial intelligence technology is developing very rapidly and can be utilized in various fields including education as an assistive tool. On the other hand, teachers' tasks are increasing. This is the background to this activity. Therefore, the purpose of this activity is to introduce artificial intelligence technology that can be utilized in the field of education, especially learning, and optimize its utilization so as to assist teachers in completing their tasks but still paying attention to academic ethics.

This activity began with a speech from the Principal of SMPN Negeri 3 Selat, Mr. I Komang Gede Sudarsana, S.Pd., M.Pd. Then continued with a speech and opening by Mr. I Wayan Suarman, S.E, as the Head of Duda Utara Village. Both the Principal and the Village Head welcomed this activity.

This activity consists of a presentation of artificial intelligence technology literacy material, demonstrations and assistance in the use of artificial intelligence technology in making teaching modules, designing learning processes, making learning videos and making presentation slides. To hone the skills of teachers in the use of artificial intelligence technology for making teaching modules, designing learning processes, making learning videos, and making presentation slides, teachers are given projects.

The training participants enthusiastically welcomed this activity. "This activity is very useful for me. I learned a lot of new things about artificial intelligence and how to apply it to learning, as a tool in carrying out my duties as a teacher," said one of the training participants.
