Udayana University's Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Holds a Coordination Meeting with PANDI Regarding Implementation as a Balinese Script DTD Registrar

Zoom, Wednesday, August 6, 2025 — The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Udayana University held a coordination meeting with the Indonesian Internet Domain Name Administrator (PANDI) to discuss the technical implementation of FMIPA's role as the official registrar for the Balinese script Second-Level Domain (DTD). This meeting marked a strategic initial step in supporting the preservation of regional scripts through digital transformation. The online meeting was attended by Mr. Cokorda Rai Adi Pramartha, PhD, UPIKS Coordinator, Business Unit Coordinator, and the Balinese script DTD Registrar technical team from FMIPA UNUD. The PANDI team also included Mr. Mohamad Shidiq Purnama and the PANDI Accreditation Team.


The meeting discussed various technical and administrative aspects related to the appointment of FMIPA Udayana University as the registrar for Balinese script domains, including registration system integration, domain database management, and script validation mechanisms. This is part of PANDI's national initiative to support the recognition and preservation of Nusantara scripts through the use of internet technology.


The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Udayana University welcomes this opportunity as a form of the campus's contribution to preserving Balinese cultural heritage. The Faculty is committed to fully supporting the preservation of Balinese script through the use of science and information technology. The next step, both parties will form a joint working team to prepare infrastructure, SOPs for domain registration, and develop a socialization plan for the public and the Balinese script user community. With this collaboration, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Udayana University is expected to become a pioneer in the use of Balinese script in the digital realm, while strengthening Bali's position as a province active in preserving local languages and culture through technology.
