Biodiversity Conservation Program
This intensive international program introduces participants to Bali's extraordinary biodiversity through classroom learning, scientific observation, fieldwork, and community engagement.
Participants study terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, environmental microbiology, ethnobotany, conservation practice, and Balinese local wisdom while developing practical green skills.
Program Highlights
An interdisciplinary experience connecting biological science with sustainability and real conservation challenges.
Integrate biological knowledge with Balinese approaches to harmony and environmental stewardship.
Learn through observation, sampling, exploration, and experiential activities in diverse ecosystems.
Study topics ranging from ecosystems and wildlife to microorganisms and applied microbiology.
Develop conservation awareness, sustainable practices, teamwork, and responsible field skills.
Visit nationally significant forests, coastal ecosystems, community initiatives, and cultural landscapes.
Conclude the program through evaluation, reflection, and presentation of practical ideas.
Program Structure
Each week focuses on a different dimension of biodiversity and conservation.
Wildlife & Ethnobotany
Explore West Bali National Park through birdwatching, monsoon forest biodiversity studies, ethnobotany, and the study of medicinal plants.
Aquatic Ecosystems
Investigate mangroves and seagrass ecosystems while learning about marine biodiversity and sea turtle conservation.
Applied Microbiology
Study local microorganisms and gain practical experience in producing liquid organic fertilizer and bioactivators.
Community-Based Conservation
Learn at Kampoeng Jalak Bali, Subak Jatiluwih, and ITDC Nusa Dua Lagoon, followed by evaluation and a closing session.
Duration & Participants
Duration: One month, comprising 20 learning days.
Target participants: Undergraduate and bachelor's-level students interested in biology, biodiversity, sustainability, environmental science, and conservation.
