Bukit Jimbaran, Wednesday, October 23, 2024 - The Indonesian Chemistry Association (HKI) Bali held a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) event which took place at the Widya Sabha Building, Udayana University. This event was officially opened by the Chancellor of Udayana University, Prof. Ir. I Ketut Sudarsana, S.T., Ph.D., who marked the opening by beating the gong, signaling the start of an important discussion for the advancement of chemistry education in Indonesia.


After the opening, the event continued with two main agendas. The first FGD focused on international accreditation, presenting prominent speakers such as Prof. Dr. Roto. M.ENG., Ph.D. and Drs. Muhamad Abdul Kadir. This discussion aims to provide in-depth insight into the accreditation process which is expected to improve the quality of chemistry study programs in Indonesia.


The second agenda discussed the Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) which was guided by Prof. Drs. Anang Wahid Muhamad Diah, Ph.D. and Mrs. Dr. Maria Paristiowati, S.Si., M.Si. In this session, participants discussed the implementation of the MBKM policy in the higher education curriculum, as well as its benefits for students in facing the challenges of the world of work.


In addition to these two agendas, the event also featured the Indonesian Chemistry Department Chairperson Forum initiated by the HKI Center, providing an opportunity for department leaders to share experiences and strategies in managing chemistry education in their respective institutions.


This event was greeted with high enthusiasm from the invitees and participants, showing great concern for the development of chemistry education in the country. This activity was also supported by several sponsors, including PT Buchi Indonesia, PT Dwi Mitra Mandiri Sampurno, PT Hitachi High Tech Indonesia, and PT Wiralab Analitika Solusindo, who contributed to organizing this FGD.


With the holding of this event, it is hoped that collaboration and innovation in chemistry education in Indonesia will increase, encouraging the development of better quality education for future generations.
