Deepening the Theory of Abstract Algebra: International Guest Lecture at the Mathematics Study Program, Udayana University
Bukit Jimbaran, Wednesday, July 02, 2025 – Mathematics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Udayana University, held a guest lecture featuring an international resource person, Prof. Dr. Shakir Ali, a professor from the Department of Mathematics, Aligarh Muslim University, India.
This event was officially opened by the Vice Dean I of FMIPA, who in his speech expressed his appreciation for the presence of Prof. Shakir Ali at the FMIPA UNUD campus. This guest lecture was also attended by lecturers, students, and academics from the FMIPA environment.
In the guest lecture session, Prof. Shakir Ali delivered material entitled "On Certain Identities Involving Derivations in Rings". This topic is part of the theory of abstract algebra which has broad applications in the fields of cryptography, code theory, and functional analysis. Prof. Ali also shared his international research experience which has produced more than 160 scientific publications in world-renowned journals.
Interactive discussions between speakers and participants increased enthusiasm and enriched students' understanding of modern mathematics research. Students also received direct motivation from Prof. Ali to dare to network and develop collaborative research at the international level.
This event is an important momentum in supporting the internationalization of study programs in the FMIPA UNUD environment. It is hoped that guest lectures like this can continue to expand global academic networks and open up opportunities for research collaboration and human resource development in the fields of mathematics and other applied sciences.
