Public Education to Improve Reproductive Health with Kele Bee Products (Tetragonula laeviceps) in Banjar Buruwan Sanur Kaja.

Denpasar, Sunday, November 10, 2024 - The Udayana Mengabdi Program by the team of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University with the title/theme "Public Education to Improve Reproductive Health with Kele Bee Products (Tetragonula laeviceps) has been implemented in Banjar Buruwan, Sanur Kaja Village, South Denpasar. The participants of the service were PKK mothers and Sekeha Teruna Teruni (STT) Yowana Asrama Banjar Buruwan totaling 70 people.


The service team consisting of Prof. Dra. Ni Luh Watiniasih as the team leader with members namely apt. Dewa Ayu Swastini, S.F., M.Farm, Luh Putu Ida Harini, S.Si., M.Sc., Dr. Ni Made Suartini, S.Si., M.Sc., and Dr. Ni Wayan Sudatri, S.Si., M.Sc., invited experts in Reproductive Health, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, namely dr. I Made Oka Negara, S.Ked., M.Biomed., FIAS as a resource person.


The event was also attended by the Head of Dusu Banjar Buruwan, Mr. Ida Bagus Made Wirata, the Head of Banjar Buruwan, Mr. Ida Bagus Widhiadi Putra, and the Head of PKK and his staff. The team leader provided counseling on the background of the selection of counseling topics and the use of natural ingredients to improve reproductive health from the results of research that has been carried out. Rosella flower extract which can be used to make a drink in the form of rosella flower tea and added pollen from kele can help improve reproductive health by increasing the viability and morphology of sperm.


The resource person, Dr. Oka Negara explained that reproductive health must be monitored from an early age, from the baby in the womb. The resource person emphasized that to maintain reproductive health, one must consume healthy foods free from pesticides or other pollutant content. It was also conveyed that education to children about sex can be given by parents from an early age, so that it can avoid sexual violence against children or adolescents. From the activities carried out by the PKK mothers, they were enthusiastic to ask questions so that they could better understand the importance of using natural ingredients for reproductive health and understanding sex education for children and the importance of maintaining reproductive health. The event was closed with a thank you to Banjar Buruwan for the time, place and participation in this Udayana Mengabdi Program event.
