Bukit Jimbaran, Thursday, December 12, 2024 - A laboratory staff mapping meeting has been held in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Udayana University, led directly by the Dean of FMIPA Prof. Ni Luh Watiniasih, and accompanied by the Vice Deans, KTU and Sub-coordinators for General Affairs and Finance of FMIPA. There were many inputs and suggestions from the laboratory staff regarding the lack of equipment for practical activities, the condition of several laboratory buildings that needed to be repaired and the decreasing number of laboratory staff because many had retired. Apart from that, it was a note from the leadership to strive for more adequate facilities by optimizing existing resources and starting to think about creating innovations from activities carried out to create superior promotional products and business units.

The leadership emphasized that the duties and functions that had been carried out by the PLP and laboratory staff were required to make a daily logbook as proof of activity performance in the monthly SKP, in addition to reporting the existence of equipment and its functional feasibility to the head of the laboratory which was forwarded to the study program including the procurement of work safety equipment, acid rooms, fire extinguishers, and showers. In addition, for the purpose of discipline of movement space and comfort of work, SOP for practicum, research, and mandatory services must be installed in the lab and the instrument logbook must be well arranged for ZI documents and accreditation.

In order to improve the competence of FMIPA students, the Integrated Research Lab opens opportunities for students to conduct research, internships, PKL, etc. In order to increase student competition in the PKM event and increase student skills after entering the workforce, this needs to be promoted by lecturers to students in chemistry, pharmacy, physics and biology study programs. good news was also conveyed by the leadership that there will be several laboratory staff who will fill the formation in 2025, in addition, rewards will be given to the best laboratory managers every year in the context of BK activities.
