Implementation of TKD Exam Wave I for Masters in Chemistry, Biology, and Informatics Even Semester 2024/2025

Denpasar, Wednesday, February 5, 2025 - The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Udayana University held the Basic Competency Test (TKD) Wave I for prospective students of Masters of Chemistry, Masters of Biology, and Masters of Informatics. This exam was held at the Postgraduate Building of FMIPA, Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, attended by the Coordinator of Study Programs (KPS) of Masters of Chemistry, KPS of Masters of Biology, KPS of Masters of Informatics, and the exam participants.


This Basic Competency Test aims to measure the basic abilities of participants in various aspects relevant to the education they are applying for. The main objectives of implementing this TKD are:


- Assessing Basic Competencies - Measuring cognitive abilities, such as logic, reading comprehension, and numerical abilities.

- Transparent and Objective Selection - Ensuring that the selection process is fair based on test results.

- Adjusting to National Standards - Ensuring that participants have the appropriate competency standards for the master's level.

- Predicting Future Performance – Assessing participants’ readiness to face academic challenges in their chosen master’s program.


The TKD Exam mechanism is implemented in a structured manner with several stages as follows


1. Registration and Verification Participants register through the official portal that has been provided.

    Document verification is carried out to ensure the completeness of administrative requirements.


2. Announcement of Exam Schedule and Location Participants who pass the administrative selection get the exam schedule and location.

    The exam implementation rules are also conveyed so that participants understand the applicable rules.


3. Exam Implementation The exam uses the Computer Assisted Test (CAT) method or a written exam according to the organizer’s policy.

    The exam material consists of:


- National Insight Test (TWK) – Tests understanding of Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Republic of Indonesia, and Indonesian history.

- General Intelligence Test (TIU) – Measures logical, numerical, and verbal abilities.

- Personal Characteristics Test (TKP) – Assesses the personality, ethics, and leadership of participants.


Assessment and Announcement of Results


- The exam results are announced directly if using the CAT system.

- For the written method, the results are announced after the assessment process is complete.


Exam Supervision and Security


- The exam is strictly supervised by the committee to prevent cheating.

- The use of the CAT system helps maintain the objectivity and accuracy of the exam results.


With a transparent, objective, and accountable selection system, the implementation of TKD Wave I is expected to be able to filter the best prospective students who are ready to continue their studies at the master's level in accordance with the established academic standards.
