UKMPPAI 2024 National Seminar and Try Out: Improving the Readiness of Prospective Indonesian Pharmacists

The Udayana University Pharmacy Student Association (Himafarma), which is part of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), is once again holding a highly anticipated annual event, namely the 2024 UKMPPAI National Seminar and Try Out. This event will take place on June 22-23, 2024, and aims to improve the readiness of prospective pharmacists in facing the Indonesian Pharmacist Professional Program Student Competency Exam (UKMPPAI).

With the theme "UKMPPAI Success: Strategies to Sharpen the Skills of Prospective Pharmacists in Facing UKMPPAI to Get Maximum Scores", this activity is held online via the Zoom application and a web-based platform for try outs. The organizing committee gathered in the Nusantara Room, Agrokompleks Building, 4th Floor, Sudirman Campus, Udayana University.

This activity consists of three main series:

UKMPPAI National Seminar: Presenting Apt7. Hutri Ardiyanto, S.Si, CEO of JuaraUKOM.ID PT Ardirah Cendekia Indonesia, who provided insight into UKMPPAI preparation as well as tips and tricks for working on questions7. This seminar was attended by pharmacy students and pharmacists from various universities27.

UKMPPAI Try Out: Participants worked on 180 online try out questions according to the latest UKMPPAI blueprint1. This activity involved JuaraUKOM.ID in providing the platform, questions, and discussions, and aims to train students' abilities and evaluate material that is still poorly mastered7.

Free Trial Class: A class discussing questions that often appear in UKMPPAI, guided by apt7. Andi Ayulestari, S.Farm. This class provides two-way interaction between instructors and participants to discuss questions in depth1.

This event was led by Komang Rian Widiantara, a 2022 Pharmacy student, along with a committee team of 65 people7. Preparations began in March 2024 until the peak of the event in June 2024. This activity was officially opened by the Dean of FMIPA, Prof7. Dra. Ni Luh Watiniasih, M.Sc., Ph7.D., and attended by various academic officials of Udayana University.

The number of participants reached 306 people from 10 different universities throughout Indonesia. The try out participants with the highest scores received cash awards. Verren Valentina achieved the highest score with a score of 97.22, followed by Desak Made Dewi Diantari and Ni Wayan Febriari Lestari.

The Head of Himafarma, I Putu Adhi Pranata, stated that this activity had a positive impact on students' readiness to face UKMPPAI and future professional challenges. Through seminars and try outs, students can measure their abilities according to established standards, improve technical competence, and build self-confidence.

Hopefully this activity will continue and provide great benefits for all participants, preparing them to achieve success in UKMPPAI and their professional careers in the pharmaceutical field.
