Tsinghua University Representatives Spark Excitement at Udayana University's Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences
Denpasar, 19 February 2024 - The halls of Udayana University's Faculty of
Mathematics and Natural Sciences were buzzing with anticipation as esteemed
guests from Tsinghua University, China, graced the campus with their presence
on Monday, February 19, 2024. Led by Prof. Sen Song, the Assistant Director of
Tsinghua Laboratory of Brain and Intelligence, the delegation brought with them
a wealth of knowledge and opportunities for collaboration.
Tsinghua University, currently ranked 25th in the World QS rankings, has
long been recognized for its excellence in academia and research. This visit
marked a significant step towards fostering international partnerships and
advancing academic endeavors.
Welcoming the delegation were the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and
Natural Sciences, Prof. Dra. Ni Luh Watiniasih, M.Sc., Ph.D., along with the
Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Planning, Dr. Ir. Ngurah Agus Sanjaya ER,
S.Kom., M.Kom., and the Head of information systems and collaboration /
Co-director of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on the Humanities and
Social Sciences (https://www.cirhss.org), Cokorda Pramartha, Ph.D.
The discussions during the visit centered around initiating collaborative
efforts in line with the principles of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Education,
Research, and Community Service). Of particular interest was the agreement to
embark on research endeavors within the domain of Artificial Intelligence in
Neuroscience, showcasing a commitment to exploring cutting-edge advancements in
science and technology.
Prof. Song expressed a keen interest in collaborating on research projects
in the field of Biology as well, highlighting the potential for
interdisciplinary cooperation between the two institutions.
To formalize the commitment to collaboration, both parties agreed to
expedite the creation of Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandums of
Agreement (MoA). These documents will serve as the foundation for fruitful
partnerships that promise mutual benefits and strengthened ties between the two
nations.
The visit of Tsinghua University representatives not only signifies a
milestone in academic collaboration but also opens doors to a future marked by
innovation, discovery, and global connectivity. As the exchange of ideas and
expertise continues to flourish, the partnership between Udayana University and
Tsinghua University holds the promise of groundbreaking research and
