Bukit Jimbaran, Friday, March 7, 2025 - The SBSN Proposal Drafting Team of the Udayana University (Unud) Technical Learning Lab held a meeting in the Meeting Room of the FMIPA Dean's Building to discuss the draft proposal for the construction of an integrated learning laboratory. This meeting was attended by ten team members, namely Prof. Dra. Ni Luh Watiniasih, Dr. Ir. Ngurah Agus Sanjaya, Prof. Ni Nyoman Rupiasih, Fainmarinat Selviani Inabuy, Ni Putu Ariantari, Eka Indra Setyawan, Ni Putu Eka Leliqia, I Made Saka Wijaya, I Gusti Ayu Agung Septiari, and I Putu Yogi Astara Putra.

This meeting resulted in several important decisions, including the team will coordinate with the State Asset Management Bureau (BMN) to ensure that the location for establishing the learning lab is in accordance with the Unud master plan as well as the Unud spatial and regional plans, and to obtain assistance in planning the building design. Several important studies that need to be completed in the proposal include technical, economic, environmental impact, institutional, benefit, risk assessment, and compliance with sharia principles.

Waste management is the main focus, where the team decided that according to the criteria in the KBLI, the establishment of a learning lab needs to prepare a Statement of Commitment to Environmental Management (SPPL) which is equipped with technical approval documents. Cooperation with third parties for the processing of B3 waste, both solid and liquid, is also proposed. The team agreed that a temporary B3 waste storage facility will be established, before being transported by a third party for further management.

The team agreed that the Unud learning lab building will consist of 4 floors, with the functional design discussed in detail, including complete and adequate lab equipment that accommodates in-depth learning of Unud students through various course practicums, modern facilities that are comfortable for the teaching and learning process, and building designs that guarantee biosafety and are environmentally friendly, such as a centralized chemical storage room, emergency shower, and a special room for gas cylinders. This meeting shows Unud's commitment to creating a laboratory that supports quality education and research.
