FMIPA Udayana Biology PS Workshop Activities: Uncovering the Secrets of Data Analysis with R

`

Bukit Jimbaran, Tuesday, 25 June 2024, Biology Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Udayana University held a Workshop which was held in the Dean Building, 1st Floor, Senate Room, Bukit Jimbaran Campus, at 12.30 WITA. By taking the topic, the theme is "An Introduction to Analyzing Data in R". With the resource person, namely Dr. Davide Thambithurai, a Post-Doctoral Researcher from the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement UMR MARBEC (IRD, Ifremer, Université de Montpellier, CNRS).

This activity was attended and opened directly by the Dean of FMIPA Prof, Ni Luh Watiniasih, accompanied by KPS Biology Dr. I Ketut Ginantra, as well as lecturers and students from the FMIPA Biology Study Program, were also accompanied as practical demonstrations. consisting of Dimas Fergiawan, Ignatius Tri Hargiyatno, and Regi F. Anggawangsa.

The goal of this workshop is to provide a clearer understanding of data analysis in R and how scientists are often asked to collect and analyze biological data. By conducting this workshop, it is hoped that participants will gain the understanding and skills needed for successful data collection and analysis.

This workshop activity is divided into two meeting days, namely on June 25 2024 and June 27 2024. In this activity, participants will be taught best practices in data collection, which is often an important step that is often overlooked. Apart from that, we will also discuss the basics of using R for data analysis, with the aim of answering questions in each participant's research.

With this workshop activity, the Biology Study Program FMIPA Udayana University shows its commitment to providing relevant understanding and skills for students in the field of data analysis in R. And through this activity, it is hoped that students and lecturers in their research can develop their analytical skills and apply this knowledge in future research and development.
