Community service: Mangrove Planting for Ecosystem Conservation
Denpasar, Sunday, June 8 2024, Master of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics
and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Udayana University held community service
activities in the context of "Mangrove Planting". This activity was
held in collaboration with UPTD Tahura Ngurah Rai Bali.
This activity involved the Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Ni Luh Watiniasih, KPS
Master of Biology FMIPA UNUD, Sang Ketut Sudirga, lecturers, and various other
parties. This is a form of community service activity, one of which is carried
out in the form of conservation by carrying out the "Mangrove
Planting" activity.
The main aim of this activity is to carry out community service in
accordance with the tri dharma of higher education. Where one form of service
carried out by the Master of Biology FMIPA UNUD is by carrying out the
"Mangrove Planting" activity. Through this activity, it is hoped that
we can help preserve the mangrove ecosystem, especially in the coastal areas of
Bali.
The "Mangrove Planting" activity was carried out at the Pedungan
Mangrove Park Arboretum, South Denpasar, Denpasar City, Bali. Where the
participants were directly involved in planting mangrove trees as an effort to
strengthen coastal ecosystems and protect the environment. Through community
service team collaboration, it is hoped that this activity can provide positive
benefits for the environment and surrounding communities.
With this community service activity, FMIPA Udayana University shows its
commitment to carrying out the tri dharma of higher education, namely
education, research and community service. It is hoped that this activity can
have a positive impact on preserving the mangrove ecosystem and awareness of
the importance of protecting the environment for the sustainability of our
lives and those of future generations.
