Pharmacy Cares for Health 2023 public education about medicine
Saturday, May 27 2023, the Pharmacy Student Association (HIMAFARMA) Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University (FMIPA UNUD) conducted Health Care Pharmacy (FPK) activities in Timpag Village, Kerambitan District, Tabanan Regency. This year's Health Care Pharmacy has the theme “Enrich The Heart by Sharing: Growing Pharmacist Awareness for The Future”. This activity is a form of community service activity that is carried out offline in a village in Bali. This activity has a concept with three series of events, namely outreach, free health checks, and blood donation.
This socialization activity discussed the importance of adult health and the important role of pharmacy in preventing and managing diseases that are common in adults, particularly related to the management of blood sugar, uric acid, and cholesterol. This socialization was aimed at health check participants and blood donors which was carried out by a lecturer from Udayana Pharmacy. The second series is free health checks for adults to the elderly. In the health check, weight, blood pressure, blood sugar levels, uric acid levels, and cholesterol levels were checked by volunteers and the Medical Assistance Team (TBM) of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, then followed by consulting patient complaints by doctors, and confirmation, information, and education (IEC) by pharmacists. At the same time as the health check activities, a series of blood donors will also be carried out which will be handled directly by the Tabanan Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) assisted by TBM FK UNUD. Through these activities it is hoped that it can increase public awareness of the importance of routine health checks to prevent disease and can increase a sense of concern and a sense of community volunteering for others who need blood assistance.
The objectives of Health Care Pharmacy activities are as follows:
- Provide information and education to the public about drugs so that they are wiser and smarter in using drugs.
- Increasing public awareness about the importance of routine health checks in order to maintain health and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
- Improving the caring and voluntary attitude of the community in helping others through blood donation activities.
- Developing awareness of the Udayana University Pharmacy community for the health of the local community.
- Introducing the Udayana University Pharmacy Study Program and the Pharmacist Profession to the public, so as to increase knowledge and develop participants' interest in the world of pharmacy.
Pharmacist apt. I Putu Ari Anggara Catur Pratama S.Farm as the medical staff who assisted this activity also conveyed the enthusiasm of Timpag Village residents in carrying out health checks where there were around 60 to 70 residents who came and all of these residents were quite enthusiastic and very willing to waiting and queuing to do a health check.
In his remarks, the Chairperson of HIMAFARMA 2023 I Gusti Ngurah Agung Pradnyana thanked all parties involved in the 2023 FPK, to the volunteers who helped launch this event, to the sponsors who have supported our needs in organizing this year's FPK, to the village and the people of Timpag Village and its surroundings who have received us from the beginning until it was held in this village until the D-day of the committee who have worked hard to launch this year's FPK event.
In his remarks, Coordinator of Pharmacy Study Program, Dr. Eka Indra Setyawan S.Farm., M.Sc., Apt., would like to thank the sponsors involved in the 2023 FPK activities, to the event committee who have worked hard to prepare this Health Care Pharmacy activity so that the event can run well , and to the residents of Timpag Village who were present and received us. It was also stated that these tertiary institutions were asked to carry out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely education, research, and community service. This Health Care Pharmacy activity is a form of implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially in the community service section. Health Care Pharmacy is an activity that is routinely carried out every year with the aim of introducing that pharmacists are able to serve you and are responsible for your health.
In his remarks, the Head of the Timpag Village, I Wayan Ardika, expressed his gratitude to the Udayana University Pharmacy students for holding this very useful activity. Also given full appreciation for the Health Care Pharmacy activity from Udayana University which is the best campus of the 3 campuses that provide KKN in Timpag Village.
he Head of HIMAFARMA 2023 hope next, we can implement and develop activity concepts so that it does not only refer to health checks, maybe in the next year there will be other activities or development activities that can have a direct impact on the community.
Last but not least, the Pharmacy Coordinating Study Program said that the most important thing is how we improve, always improving what has been done so that activities in the next period can be even better.
