"Humanitarian Collaboration: PS Informatics FMIPA Unud Holds a Blood Donation Event with PDDI and UTD PMI Bali"

Bukit Jimbaran, Saturday 06 April 2024 at the Dean of FMIPA Udayana building, Floor 3 (computer lab 2). Udayana University (Unud) has once again demonstrated its commitment to various social and humanitarian activities by holding a blood donation program with the Indonesian Blood Donor Association (PDDI) Bali and the Blood Transfusion Unit (UTD) PMI Bali. This activity is part of a series of SUPREMASI XVII events and is a manifestation of the Tri Darma of Higher Education. Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Unud, Prof. Dra. Ni Luh Watiniasih, M.Sc., Ph.D., appreciated the blood donation program held by the FMIPA Unud Informatics Study Program as a form of community service.


He stated that this activity was important to support public health by donating blood from university students and staff. Chairman of PDDI Bali Province, Ketut Pringgaantara, emphasized the importance of blood donation as an effort to save the lives of patients in hospitals. He also highlighted the participation of new donors, especially students, in this humanitarian action. Blood donation is considered a strong bulwark to protect the younger generation from the negative impacts of life, such as free sex and narcotics.


This was conveyed as an effort to maintain the character and culture of the nation, as well as improve the health of the Indonesian people. Head of Informatics Study Program FMIPA Unud, DR.Ir. I Ketut Gede Suhartana, S.Kom., M.Kom., IPM., ASEAN.Eng., expressed his feeling of being helped in carrying out community service activities through this blood donation program. By involving 200 students and several lecturers, this blood donation activity became one of the important moments in the celebration of the anniversary of the FMIPA Unud Informatics Study Program which will come on April 14 2024. The success of this program is also a shared joy for all parties involved.
