Guest Lecture Advantages of Conventional Chromatography on the isolation of phenolic compounds

`

Saturday, October 2, 2021, Master's Program in Chemistry, FMIPA, Udayana University held a guest lecture attended by students and lecturers of S1, S2 Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Pharmacy Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Unud and other university students throughout Indonesia who registered around 49 institutions totaling 176 people, including : UI, UNPAD, UNESA, Jakarta State University, Pakuan University, Unram, Undana, Poltekes, Stikes, Undira, Unmas etc.

This activity is a form of implementation of the collaboration between FMIPA Unud and FMIPA Airlangga University. The theme raised is the Excellence of Conventional Chromatography on the isolation of Phenolic Compounds. by inviting a Chemistry Research Lecturer from the Faculty of Science and Technology, Universitas Airlangga Surabaya, Dr. Nanik Siti Aminah, M.Sc. is expected to increase the insight/competence of S2 and S1 Chemistry students to finish lectures on time listed in the S2 and S1 chemistry curriculum, FMIPA Unud. Based on the presentation of the material and the discussion carried out, it can be concluded that phenolic compounds can be separated by conventional chromatographic methods (VLC, GKK, and TLC) until 1 spot is obtained which can be said to be chromatographically pure. Furthermore, the elucidation of the structure was carried out using spectroscopic techniques such as UV-Vis, FTIR, NMR, and MS to identify the structure. (Suaniti)
