Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University to be the Co-host of ICON-SMART 2022
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University became the Co-host of the 3rd International Conference On Natural Sciences, Mathematics, Applications, Research, and Technology (ICON-SMART 2022) which was held by Sam Ratulangi University in collaboration with Yokohama National University Japan, Prince of Songkla University Thailand, Ganesha Education University, Mataram University, Malang State University, Satya Wacana Christian University Salatiga, Gorontalo State University, and Cendrawasih University which will be held on a hybrid basis, 3 to 4 June 2022 at Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel Bali and online via Zoom.
The seminar was held in conjunction with regular meetings of the Deans of FMIPA in Indonesia (MIPAnet) and the Malaysian Council of Deans for Science and Mathematics (MDSM), which at the third meeting focused on and took the theme of Mathematical Physics and Biotechnology for Education, Energy Efficiency, and Marine Industries. The seminar presented speakers from Griffith University, Yokohama University, University Putra Malaysia, Universiti Malaya, and Prince of Songla University.
Unud Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Gde Antara, M.Eng., IPU in his speech said that holding this seminar is one of the implementations of the MoU between Unud and Unsrat which was carried out two years ago and his party hopes that this collaboration can continue, especially in terms of scientific conferences. As Rector, he will also continue to provide support for collaboration with Sam Ratulangi University on a much larger scale.
The Rector of Unud has high hopes that this conference will bring great benefits to all scientists who participate in this activity. Although this conference only lasted a few days, all of them here as researchers can exchange knowledge and personal experiences which are expected to be useful for conducting joint research in the future. In addition, the Rector also hopes that there are recommendations from this conference that can be further implemented by government agencies or other institutions in making decisions and policies in the future.
On that occasion, the Rector of Unud also emphasized the importance of building a platform and increasing collaboration between basic and applied sciences so as to produce quality international research collaborations and publications.
While the Recotr of Unsrat Prof. Dr. Ir. Ellen J. Kumaat, M.Sc., DEA in her speech expressed her appreciation to the Rector of Udayana University and also thanked other university leaders. He hopes that this activity will be a fun and very productive moment. In the previous two conferences we focused on how to see the impact of a pandemic, but now it is important to discuss how education, energy and marine products are. This year we are holding a hybrid conference and also involving the Malaysian Council of Deans for Science and Mathematics (MDSM) and is the largest conference held. Through this opportunity, the Rector of Unsrat also gave his appreciation to the keynote speakers, speakers and committees who had organized this activity.
The opening of the event was marked by the beating of the Gong by the Rector of Unsrat and the Rector of Unud. This event was attended by 730 general participants and 900 students from 144 institutions from 19 countries.
