Community Service - Sharpening Digital Literacy: Teachers at Bebandem 2 Public Middle School Innovate with AI

Bebandem, Karangasem, Wednesday, July 16, 2025 - The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA) of Udayana University held artificial intelligence (AI) literacy training for teachers at SMP Negeri 2 Bebandem, Karangasem, Bali, from July 14-16, 2025. The training was attended by teachers such as Ni Komang Tresna Winasih, S.Pd., the principal, along with other teachers enthusiastic about learning AI technology to support the teaching and learning process.

Over the three days of training, participants learned everything from an introduction to AI concepts, developing Lesson Plans (RPPs), creating PowerPoint presentations, and producing AI-based learning videos. These materials and practical exercises helped them understand that AI is an efficient tool for creating more engaging and innovative teaching materials, not a replacement for the role of teachers.

At the end of the training, each teacher successfully produced learning materials in the form of lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, and instructional videos ready for use. The renewed enthusiasm and digital skills gained from this training are crucial for technology-based educational transformation, particularly in remote areas like Karangasem.
