Physton Day 2 Equips New Physics Students to Explore Fields of Interest and Academic Paths

JIMBARAN, September 12, 2026 – The Physics Orientation (Physton) 2026 series continued on Saturday (Sept. 12) with Physton Day 2, an event dedicated to introducing the various fields of interest within the Physics Study Program. This activity served as a platform for new students to gain insight into the diverse scientific disciplines, research opportunities, and potential academic and career paths within the field of Physics.

The event began with opening remarks from the Head of the Physics Student Association (HIMAFI), Gede Mahendra Sastra Adhi Wiguna, and was officially opened by the Physics Study Program Coordinator, Dr. I Gde Antha Kasmawan, S.Si., M.Si. During the session, new students were introduced to the importance of identifying their fields of interest early in their studies, equipping them to determine their academic focus and research plans.

In the main session, speakers presented the various fields of interest available within the Physics Study Program, including Medical Physics, Biophysics, Materials Physics, Earth Physics, Instrumentation Physics, Electronics, and Computational Physics. The presentations were conducted interactively, featuring discussions and Q&A sessions that covered research focuses, laboratory facilities, research opportunities, and the practical application of these disciplines in both industry and academia.

Through Physton Day 2, new students are expected to gain a broader understanding of the scope of Physics, explore their own potential and interests, and form an initial idea of ??the academic and research directions they might pursue during their studies in the Physics Study Program.
