National Avicena Competition 2026: A Platform for Innovation and Achievement of the Young Generation in Addressing Antimicrobial Resistance

The Udayana University Pharmacy Student Association successfully held the 2026 National Avicena Competition (NAC), a national-level competition themed "Addressing Antimicrobial Resistance in Global Healthcare Systems: Advancing Integrated Strategies for Sustainable and Resilient Healthcare." This event aimed to enhance the intellectual quality, creativity, and critical thinking skills of students, university students, and the general public in responding to the challenge of antimicrobial resistance.

The 2026 NAC series of activities began with a National Seminar and preliminary rounds of the Patient Counseling Competition on May 9, 2026, opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University. The seminar, themed "Strengthening Tuberculosis Control: A Strategic Response to Antimicrobial Resistance," featured expert speakers in their fields to enhance understanding of tuberculosis control and antimicrobial resistance.

The event culminated on May 23, 2026, with the finals of various competitions, attended by participants from various schools and universities across Indonesia. A total of 67 seminar participants, 68 Patient Counseling Competition participants, 39 Student Essay teams, 35 Student Essay teams, 48 ??Public Poster teams, and 22 Drug Packaging Design teams participated in this event. NAC 2026 serves as a collaborative and competitive space that encourages the birth of innovative ideas from the younger generation to support a more sustainable and resilient healthcare system.
