Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University Establishes Strategic Cooperation with the National Institute of Forest Science (NIFoS) of South Korea

Bukit Jimbaran, Friday, April 25, 2025 - The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA) of Udayana University received an official visit from the National Institute of Forest Science (NIFoS), a leading forestry research institution from South Korea. This visit aims to discuss and formulate important points in the creation of a Cooperation Agreement between the two institutions.

The NIFoS delegation was led by researcher Bora Lee, who was accompanied by Ms. Citra Gilang and Mr. Himlal Baral. They were received directly by the Dean of the Faculty of MIPA, Prof. Ni Luh Watiniasih, M.Sc., Ph.D., together with the Vice Dean for Academic and Planning, the Coordinator of the Information Management and Strategic Cooperation Unit (UPIKS), and research lecturers from the Biology Study Program.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed various types of cooperation that could be established, including joint research collaboration, researcher exchanges, and the licensing process for foreign researchers who will conduct research in Indonesia. The Faculty of MIPA of Udayana University welcomed this initiative as a strategic step to improve the quality of research and expand international networks.

This collaboration is expected to open up new opportunities in the development of science, especially in the fields of forestry and the environment, as well as strengthen academic relations between Indonesia and South Korea.
