UNDIP and UNUD Strengthen Collaboration on Mangrove Ecosystem Research in Benoa Bay
Bukit Jimbaran, Tuesday, June 17, 2025 – Diponegoro University (UNDIP) through the Cluster for Paleolimnology (CPalim) made an official visit to the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Udayana University (UNUD) in order to strengthen research cooperation in the field of ecology. This visit was well received by the Dean of FMIPA UNUD, Vice Deans, UPIKS, UP2M, Sub Coordinators and Education Staff.
This visit is a follow-up to the initiation of cooperation that has been established since 2023, with a focus on research entitled "Comprehensive Ecological Evaluation of Mangrove Ecosystems in Benoa Bay Bali: Biodiversity, Environmental Indicators, and Carbon Dynamics." This research was conducted with Dr. Anak Agung Gde Raka Dalem, MSc from FMIPA Unud.
During the visit which took place on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 13.00 WITA, a cooperation document was signed between the Faculty of Science and Mathematics UNDIP and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UNUD, as well as the Implementation of Arrangement (IoA) between CPalim and the Biology Study Program UNUD. The UNDIP delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Tri Retnaningsih Soeprobowati, MAppSc, who was present with six other members of the research team from CPalim.
This signing marked the beginning of intensive collaboration in efforts to preserve and develop science on mangrove ecosystems, which have a vital role in mitigating climate change and conserving biodiversity in coastal areas. This collaboration is expected to strengthen the synergy between higher education institutions in encouraging superior environmental-based research and responding to increasingly complex ecological challenges.
