Technology and Cultural Education: Udayana's Master of Informatics Program Encourages SMPN 4 Sukawati Students to Become AI Literate and Preserve Balinese Script
Sukawati, October 31, 2025 – The Udayana University Master of Informatics Study Program successfully conducted an educational activity at SMPN 4 Sukawati, combining modern technological innovation with a spirit of local cultural preservation. This activity aimed to improve digital literacy among students while instilling a love of Balinese culture.
In this activity, students received two main topics, both engaging and relevant to current developments. The first topic, "Introduction to Canva AI Technology in PPT Creation," introduced the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support creativity in presentation design. Beyond technology, participants were also introduced to cultural heritage through the topic "Introduction and Demo of the Balinese Script Keyboard." Through this session, students learned how digital technology can be an effective tool for preserving regional scripts.
The Head of the Udayana University Master of Informatics Study Program, Cokorda Rai Adi Pramartha, S.T., M.M.S.I., Ph.D., was also present to deliver remarks and introduce the study program. This interactive activity, interspersed with educational games, successfully created a fun learning environment. It is hoped that students at SMPN 4 Sukawati will not only gain a deeper understanding of the creative use of AI technology but also take greater pride in using and preserving Balinese script as part of their cultural identity.
