SCoMOA 2025: Nurturing Young Talent in Modern Photonics
Bukit Jimbaran, July 25–29, 2025 – The International Summer Course on Modern Optics and Its Applications (SCoMOA) 2025 was held at Udayana University, with the Physics Study Program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences as the co-organizing program this year. The four-day event officially opened on Friday, July 25, 2025, in the 3rd Floor Auditorium of the Lecture Building of Udayana University. This program, part of the UNESCO-initiated International Day of Light commemoration, was held as a hybrid program with 118 participants, including 13 international participants.
The event was attended by the Chair of the Indonesian Optics Association, the Chair of the Indonesian Optic Society (InOS) Council, the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University, the Coordinator of the Physics Study Program, the Chair of the Indonesian Optic Society, the Chair of the Indonesian Optic Society Council, and students from Udayana University.
SCoMOA 2025 presents a series of intensive lectures and in-depth labs on modern optical technologies that form the foundation of innovations such as lidar sensors, high-speed fiber optics, and various other photonics applications. This program is intended for students and professionals from various universities and research institutions, both domestic and international, who want to develop their capabilities in the field of photonics.
