Prof. Haryadi S. Gunawi's Visit to FMIPA Udayana University: Introducing Garuda ACE and Giving a Guest Lecture for Informatics Students
Bukit Jimbaran, Monday, June 30, 2025 – The Informatics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Udayana University received a special visit from Prof. Haryadi S. Gunawi, a professor from the Department of Computer Science, University of Chicago, United States. This visit was welcomed directly by the Coordinator of the Informatics Study Program, Dr. Ir. I Ketut Gede Suhartana, S.Kom., M.Kom., IPM., ASEAN.Eng, along with lecturers of the Informatics Study Program.
During this visit, Prof. Haryadi Gunawi was present to introduce the Garuda ACE (Academic Career Excellence) Program, which is an academic career acceleration program for prospective doctoral lecturers which is part of the PMDSU (Masters Education towards Doctorate for Excellent Bachelors) scheme organized by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology.
In addition to explaining the opportunities and Garuda ACE scheme to lecturers and academics, Prof. Haryadi also gave a guest lecture attended by students of the Informatics Study Program. In the guest lecture, he shared his international research experiences, the latest trends in computer systems and storage, and opened students' insights about the importance of collaborative and globally standardized research.
This visit is a valuable momentum for the FMIPA academic community, especially the Informatics Study Program, to expand international academic networks and explore collaborations in the fields of research and human resource development. It is hoped that this visit will motivate students and lecturers to be active in superior academic programs such as Garuda ACE.
