International Guest Lecture for Master of Informatics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University: Exploring Technological Innovation and Academic Research Journeys

Denpasar, July 3, 2026 — Future technological developments will not only be determined by coding skills, but also by applying appropriate research methodologies, designing innovative solutions, and building academic journeys that have a real impact on society.

As a commitment to improving academic insight and research quality, the Master of Informatics Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Udayana University, in collaboration with APTIKOM Bali, successfully held a Guest Lecture featuring internationally renowned academics.

On this occasion, FMIPA Udayana University had the honor of welcoming the following keynote speakers:

Prof. David Sundaram

Professor of Information Systems and Operations Management, University of Auckland, New Zealand

In this guest lecture, Prof. Sundaram shared in-depth insights on two important topics for academics, researchers, students, and practitioners in the field of information technology.

The first topic discussed "Design Science Research: Designing the Future of Technology," which explored how the Design Science Research approach can be used to design innovative, relevant technological solutions that address real societal challenges.

He also presented a presentation on "The PhD and Master's Research Journey," which provided an overview, strategies, and reflections on how postgraduate students can undertake a focused and high-quality research journey at the master's and doctoral levels.

The event, which took place in the Postgraduate Building Hall of Udayana University, Sudirman Campus, was enthusiastically attended by lecturers, researchers, and students. The interactive discussions throughout the event demonstrated the high enthusiasm of the academic community in developing research and innovation in the field of information systems and future technology.
