Guest Lecture - Udayana Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Informatics Strengthens International Collaboration with Okayama University

The Undergraduate and Master's Informatics Study Programs, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University, hosted an academic visit from Prof. Nobuo Funabiki from Okayama University, Japan, as part of a series of activities to strengthen international collaboration, held on May 11, 2026. The event included a guest lecture, academic discussion, exploration of doctoral study opportunities, and the signing of an Implementation Agreement (IA) between the Undergraduate and Master's Informatics Study Programs, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University, and Okayama University.

During the guest lecture, Prof. Nobuo Funabiki shared his academic insights and international research experiences with the Informatics academic community of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University. The event then continued with an academic discussion with the lecturers, where each lecturer presented their research areas and current research topics, ranging from artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, computer networks, multimedia, educational technology, and software development. Prof. Funabiki also introduced research laboratories, ongoing research projects, and international collaboration networks that have the potential to open up opportunities for joint research and further doctoral studies.

This momentum also marked a significant milestone with the signing of an Implementation Agreement (IA), demonstrating a concrete commitment to strengthening academic cooperation between the two institutions, particularly in the areas of education, research, academic exchange, scientific publications, and human resource capacity development.

Through this collaboration, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Udayana University continues to demonstrate its commitment to expanding its global network, improving the quality of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education (Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi), and opening more international opportunities for faculty and students.
