GoTo Officially Collaborates with FMIPA Udayana University and Holds Public Lecture for Digital Talent Development

Bukit Jimbaran, March 7, 2025, - PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO) has officially established a partnership with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Udayana University. This partnership aims to encourage the development of digital talent in Indonesia through education, research, and community service, in accordance with the principles of the Tridharma of Higher Education.

As the largest digital ecosystem in Indonesia, GoTo is committed to involving FMIPA Udayana University students in the Sahabat-AI project, an open-source Large Language Model (LLM) specifically designed for Indonesian and regional languages, including Balinese. Selected students will contribute to data validation and receive training on artificial intelligence, which is expected to strengthen the AI ??ecosystem in Indonesia.

Mohammad Khomeiny, Head of Public Policy and Government Relations Indo-Region GoTo, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in preserving the Balinese language and supporting Indonesia's digital sovereignty. Dean of FMIPA Udayana University, Prof. Dra. Ni Luh Watiniasih, M.Sc., Ph.D, also highlighted the synergy between academics and industry as the key to creating technological solutions that benefit society.

This collaboration is a real step by GoTo in supporting the development of digital talent and has involved various universities in Indonesia. The LLM Sahabat-AI model that has been developed can be accessed for free on the Hugging Face platform, and has been used in Voice Dictation (Dira) technology to improve the user experience in using the GoPay feature.
