FMIPA Student Coordination Meeting: Optimizing Potential and Facilitating Achievements
Bukit Jimbaran, Thursday, December 12, 2024 – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Udayana University held a coordination meeting of student mentors to discuss efforts to improve student achievement. Taking place in the Senate Meeting Room, 1st Floor, FMIPA Dean's Office, it was led by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Information, Prof. Ni Nyoman Rupiasih, accompanied and attended by the Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Ni Luh Watiniasih, the Student Mentor lecturers, and the Student Affairs Sub-Corporation, resulting in a number of important agreements.
One of the obstacles currently being faced is the suboptimal recording of student achievement. To overcome this, it was agreed that BEM, DPM, and HIMA would play an active role in monitoring and reporting student achievement. In addition, data synchronization will be carried out with the academic information system to ensure that each achievement is properly recorded.
The Dean of FMIPA emphasized the importance of student development to increase interest in participating in competitions and other academic activities. Student advisors are asked to proactively seek out competition opportunities, both at national and international levels, and provide mentoring to students.
"We want every FMIPA student to have the opportunity to develop their potential and achieve," said the Dean of FMIPA. "To that end, there needs to be good cooperation between lecturers, student advisors, and the students themselves."
The meeting also discussed the importance of following the rules and requirements for participating in competitions, as well as procedures for reporting achievements. Meeting participants agreed to increase socialization regarding competition opportunities and applicable requirements.
With this coordination meeting, it is hoped that the achievements of FMIPA students can increase significantly. The faculty is committed to providing full support to students who excel, both in the form of mentoring, funding, and facilities.
