Denpasar, December 11, 2025 — The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Udayana University attended and played a key role in the official launch of the Balinese Script Second-Level Domain (SLD) "" which was inaugurated by the Governor of Bali, Dr. Ir. I Wayan Koster, M.M., at the Ksirarnawa Building, Denpasar Art Center.

Udayana University was represented by the Rector of Udayana University, represented by the Head of the Institute for the Study of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (LPPM), Prof. Dr. drh. I Nyoman Suartha, M.Sc., who also provided support for the development of a digital identity based on the regional script. The presence of university leaders strengthened collaboration between the regional government, PANDI (Indonesian National Institute of Diversity), and universities in promoting digital cultural literacy.

From Udayana University's Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the event was attended by the Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Dra. Ni Luh Watiniasih, M.Sc., Ph.D., as well as FMIPA lecturers involved in the development of Balinese script technology. The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) made a significant contribution to this project through Cokorda Rai Adi Pramartha, Ph.D., a lecturer at the Faculty and inventor of the Balinese Script System for Internet Domain Names, who served as a speaker at the Balinese Script SLD talk show.

In the talk show, themed " as Bali's Digital Identity," Dr. Cokorda Rai explained the technical foundations of Unicode and Label Generation Rules (LGR), which enable the use of Balinese script as an internet domain in a standard, secure, and linguistically correct manner.

The launch of SLD marks a strategic step in cultural preservation through technology and affirms the role of FMIPA Unud as a center for digital innovation supporting the development of local culture in the modern era.
