Empowerment of Ban Village Community Through Green Tourism by Udayana University

Karangasem, Bali, October 26, 2024 — The academic community of the Mathematics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University, held a community service activity in Cegi Hamlet, Ban Village, Karangasem on Saturday, October 26, 2024. This activity aims to empower the local community through the development of green tourism, as part of the International Partnership and Community Engagement Program.


This activity was opened by the Head of Cegi Village, Mr. I Nengah Toya, where he welcomed and thanked the academic community of the Mathematics Study Program, FMIPA, Udayana University, for their willingness to carry out community service activities in Cegi Hamlet. The activity was continued by Lecturer and resource person Mr. Bhagawata by providing education to the community regarding the potential for green tourism in the area. They work together with local residents in developing sustainable nature-based tourist attractions. With the theme "Community Empowerment Through Green Tourism Development," this event is expected to increase environmental awareness and open up economic opportunities for the residents of Cegi Hamlet.


The villagers enthusiastically welcomed this activity and hoped that similar programs could continue to help improve the standard of living and environmental conservation. Through this program, the academic community of the Mathematics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University hopes that the community can be independent in developing the existing natural potential. The event was closed with the handover of souvenirs and assistance of water filters for use by the people of Cegi Hamlet.
